Why You Should Consider Pinterest as Part of Your Social Media Mix

Are you pinning yet? If the answer is no, you should be! Since its launch in March 2010, Pinterest is growing at the rate of knots and shows no signs of slowing down.

For those of you who have no idea what Pinterest is, it's a virtual inboard that allows you to create your own pin boards where you can organise and share things you find on the Internet. People use Pinterest to plan weddings, decorate their homes, pin scrumptious recipes, share craft/DIY ideas and more.

Why should you take notice of Pinterest? Pinterest already accounts for more referral traffic on the web than Twitter, Linkedin and Google+, and it's incredibly popular with women.

Pinterest can be helpful for businesses that are in the food, crafts, travel, wedding and decorating business to name a few, because it gives them the ability to showcase what they do. Pinterest users are actively looking for great visual, which means there's an opportunity to be discovered by consumers interested in the brand.
